To be the leading force in developing cycling as a recognised, accessible and competitive school sport across Gauteng — building champions on and off the bike.
Gauteng Schools Cycling organises, administers and promotes school cycling across the Gauteng province. We run structured series events for riders aged 5 to 18, maintain age-group competitive formats aligned to Cycling SA standards, and work tirelessly to grow participation at every level.
As a statutory body of Schools Cycling SA (SCSA), Gauteng Schools Cycling operates within a national framework that ensures consistent standards, fair competition and aligned development pathways for all school cyclists in South Africa.
We work alongside Schools Cycling SA and provincial federations to entrench cycling as an officially recognised school sport — ensuring it receives the same status, funding and support as other mainstream school codes.
From a child's first Fun Ride to provincial colours and beyond, we build structured competitive pathways that give talented young cyclists a clear route to elite and professional cycling.
We actively collaborate with schools, cycling clubs, Cycling SA, sponsors and community organisations — because no organisation builds a sport alone. Strong partnerships create strong participation.
Cycling builds more than fitness. It builds confidence, resilience, teamwork and a lifelong love of movement. We promote cycling as a vehicle for holistic learner development.
We develop and maintain robust provincial and national competitive structures — from age-group series events through to championships — so every young rider has something meaningful to aim for.
Cycling should not be limited by geography, school or background. We are committed to making school cycling accessible to every learner in Gauteng, regardless of their circumstances.
Join thousands of riders, parents, coaches and schools building something great together.
